MortgageAdvice4Free is all about mortgage advice ... for free. Hopefully, that advice will be gleaned from the many articles on this website. The website is run and written by me, John Donaldson CeMAP.

So who am I? Well, as far as the industry is concerned, I am a fully qualified mortgage adviser. How come? I've sat the appropriate exam, which is the Certificate in Mortage Advice and Practice, or CeMAP for short. Passing the exam entitles me to use CeMAP after my name.

The Institute of Financial Services (ifs), the official brand of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB), developed the innovative qualification structure that is the CeMAP and CeFA (Certificate for Financial Advisers) qualifications. The qualifications are aimed at those working in the regulated environments of mortgage, financial and general insurance advice.
